Fenugreek seeds are believed to increase milk production. Traditionally, fenugreek/methi is considered to cool the body temperature and so consumed during menstrual period too.
Also abiding to the tradition, Pregnant ladies are served with this fenugreek water(Vendhaya Kasahayam) once a day in their last trimester and still continued as postnatal drink for milk production.
Fenugreek might cause bloating/gas problem as a side-effect and so it is always clubbed with Jeera water which alleviates these problems and also aids digestion.
Recently, I read that fenugreek water when drunk in empty stomach in the morning will keep the body healthy by reducing cholesterol and preventing diabetes & hypertension.
