This post is for babies who have completed 11 months and just starting their 12th month.
Below is my baby’s schedule for this month. This schedule is just for your reference. Please don’t try to fit your baby in this schedule. Let your baby decide his/her schedule to nap. And you choose a wise time (to feed solids) that suits you and your baby.

Please have a look at the previous food charts(click here for link) to check if you have introduced all those foods before introducing the foods mentioned in this 11 months food chart. You can add a mid-morning snack(preferably fruits).. I couldn’t add it as my baby was still taking mid-morning nap and so she didn’t needed it. If you could fit a brunch time snack in your baby’s schedule, you can very well got for it.
- New food – Millets, Rajma/kidney beans.
- In our families, we give millets(except Finger Millet/Ragi which we give as first food) to babies only when they start to walk(with or without support) and that is when babies complete 11 months. While introducing Millets for babies, it is recommended to give in fermented and steamed form(idly) first, for the tiny body to easily accept it.

In a pan, sesame oil, nearly half of a small green chilli without seeds, curry leaves, grated beetroot, water till immersing level. Cook closed for 10+ mins in medium flame. Remove leaves & chilli. Add ghee & cooked rice to the pan and mash well with potato masher. Transfer to bowl & squeeze some lemon juice 🍋 .. Farm-fresh beetroot that I got was light in color. | ![]() Peeled and pressed well-ripened blueberries.. | ![]() White rava upma made with carrot 🥕 and tomato 🍅 Baby’s most fav dinner 👌 In sesame oil, mustard, curry leaves, 1/4 green chilli without seeds, small onion, 1/2 tomato without skin & seeds, 1/4 grated carrot, nearly 1 cup hot boiling water. Day 4 | ![]() Unsweetened Finger millet/Ragi puttu (link) with banana 🍌 | ![]() Green peas kurma- Cook peas with water above immersing level in a closed pan for 10 mins in med flame. U shall alternately pressure cook too. In a pan, sesame or coconut oil, 1/4 chopped onion, 1 garlic clove. Once onions start to change color, add 1/2 tomato, lil peeled ginger & 1/8 tsp turmeric powder. Once tomato turns mushy, add 1 tbsp grated coconut. Saute once & add 1/4 tsp coriander powder, 1 pinch roasted cumin powder, 1 big pinch chilli powder, lil cardamom powder, 1/8 tsp fennel seeds/ sombu, 1/2 tsp fried gram/ pottukadalai, 1 whole cashewnut, 1 small cinnamon/pattai, 1 clove/krambu, 5 mint & 1 coriander stalk with leaves. Add one by one, stir once & just switch off.. Let it cool in the pan itself. Once cooled, grind to smooth paste with 1/4 cup water. In oil, curry leaves, ground paste, cooked peas along with cooked water and extra 1/2 cup to 1 cup water as required. Cook closed in medium flame for 10 mins. Press the peas to change shape while feeding. Day 5 | ![]() Lotus seeds porridge + mashed banana. Click here for link. | ![]() Toor dal rice(recipe in Day 2 lunch) with salmon fish fry. Marinate fish with pepper powder, roasted cumin powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder & lime juice for 1 hour. In an iron tawa, 1 tbsp coconut oil. Once hot, in low-medium flame, fry all sides by flipping sides every 30 seconds. It just took a total of 5 mins for this small piece. Fish should be rightly cooked. Day 6 | ![]() Little millet/Saamai sambar idli. Soak separately- 1 cup little millet, 1/2 cup idli rice, 1/4 cup urad dal, 1/4 cup poha, 1/8 tsp methi seeds for 6 hours. I ground using mixie. Wash everything except methi seeds. Grind together methi seeds and urad dal with lil water to smooth paste. Grind poha without water to smooth paste. Grind rice and millet without water to smooth paste. U shall sprinkle lil water while grinding, if required. But make sure the batter should be lil thick like normal idli batter. Mix well and ferment for 8 hours. Make as normal idlis. Sambar recipe in lunch. | ![]() Rice with Pumpkin sambar. Cook pumpkin separately with lil water for 10 mins in a closed pan in medium flame. Pressure cook toor dal(20 mins soaked) with tomato, asafoetida, turmeric, tomato, garlic clove for 6 whistles. In sesame oil, mustard. Once spluttered, in sim, curry leaves, 1 chopped small onion, asafoetida, pinch each of roasted cumin powder, coriander powder, sambar powder. I just took a tsp of powder mixed well with 1/2 cup water. Added pinch each of roasted and ground sesame seeds powders to it and cooked in sim for 10 mins. Day 9 | ![]() Pumpkin dosa(link) with coconut chutney. For dosa, add very little garlic for baby or just skip it.. For chutney, ground fried gram/ pottukadalai, coconut and lil ginger with water to thin consistency.. Tempered with sesame oil, mustard & curry leaves.. | ![]() Carrot rice 🥕 In coconut oil, mustard, tail of green chilli without seeds, curry leaf, 1/2 grated carrot, water till carrot immerses well. Day 10 | ![]() Old fashioned oats porridge cooked with ghee, grated pista, peanut & walnut. Click here for link. See the last point in the Tips section in the link provided. | ![]() Rice with Rajma curry.. Coconut oil, pinch cumin seeds, 1/4 onion, 1 garlic clove. Once onion changes color, 1/2 tomato, big pinch turmeric powder. Once tomatoes r mushy, 1 pinch sambar powder, big pinch coriander powder, 1 tbsp grated coconut. Stir & switch off. Once cooled, grind to smooth paste with 1/4 cup water. In oil, curry leaves, asafoetida, cooked Rajma(soaked overnight & pressure cooked for 8 to 10 whistles), ground paste, 1/2 cup or more water, 1 uncut coriander stalk with leaves. Cook covered in med flame for 10 mins. Peeled Rajma & pressed well with fingers while feeding. Day 11 | ![]() Ragi idiyappam with coconut milk.. In low flame, fry 2 tbsp Ragi flour & 1 tbsp raw rice flour for 5 mins or until very hot to touch.. Switch off. Parallelly, boil 1/2 cup water with lil sesame oil. Pour boiling water to the dough & mix well with a spoon, until all gathers well. Transfer to a plate and knead quickly to smooth dough. Transfer to idiyappam press and make idiyappam over a greased idli plate. Parallelly, keep idli pot with water & cook closed until water boils well. Then place the plate with idiyappam and cook just for 5 mins.. Immediately, transfer to hot pack. Soo soft idiyappam ready.. For coconut milk, added cardamom powder to coconut, ground with water & extracted milk. Day 12 | ![]() Fruit bowl - Avocado 🥑 & banana 🍌 | ![]() Cashew coriander chicken curry. Soak 2 whole cashews in warm water for 1 hour. Sesame oil, 3 chopped small onions, curry 🍃, 2 garlic cloves grated, small piece ginger peeled & grated, 1/2 tomato, turmeric powder. Once mushy, add minced chicken, pinch chilli powder, 1/4 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 cup water. Pressure cook for 5 whistles in high flame. Add ground paste(soaked cashews, 1 tbsp coconut, 1 pinch fennel/sombu, 1 pinch jeera, 4 peppercorns, 1 small pattai/cinnamon piece, 1 clove/krambu, 15 fried gram/ pottukadalai, few coriander leaves, 1/4 cup water) , 1/4 cup water rinsing the mixie jar.. Day 13 | ![]() Barnyard millet/ Kudhiraivaali idli with sambar.. For idli, 1/2 cup barnyard millet, 1/2 cup idli rice, 1/4 cup poha, 1/4 cup urad dal, 1/8 tsp fenugreek seeds.. Grind and ferment just like normal idli batter. | ![]() Mashed rice with Chayote squash/Chow chow + carrot sambar. Pressure cook toor dal(soaked for 20 mins), turmeric, asafoetida, tomato, small onions, garlic clove, chow chow, carrot for 5 whistles. In sesame oil, mustard. Once spluttered, in sim, curry 🍃, pinch each of asafoetida, roasted cumin powder, sambar powder, coriander powder. Immediately pour dal water followed by cooked and mashed dal with cooked veggies. Day 14 | ![]() Paniyaram using normal idli batter. Mint chutney- In a drop of sesame oil, fry handful of fresh mint leaves for few secs until shrunken. Add 1/4 cup coconut, a small piece peeled ginger and 2 heaped tsp fried gram/pottukadalai to it, stir well & switch off. Once cooled, grind smooth with required water. Take out baby portion, add salt & green chillies & grind for others.. Temper with mustard, Urad dal & curry leaves. Day 15 | ![]() Lotus seeds porridge(link) with fork-mashed banana 🍌 | ![]() Rice mashed with mined mutton curry. In groundnut or sesame oil, 3 chopped small onions, curry 🍃, grated (2 garlic cloves & a small piece peeled ginger). Once fried, add half chopped tomato, 1/8 tsp turmeric powder. Once mushy, add 1 tbsp minced mutton. Fry for a min & add 1/4 tsp coriander powder, 1 pinch gravy powder or just plain chilli powder. Saute once, pour 3/4 cup water & pressure cook for 6 whistles. Grind 1 tbsp grated coconut, big pinch each of jeera & aniseed/sombu, 4 peppercorns/milagu, 1 small piece cinnamon/pattai, 1 clove/krambu, 1 pinch cardamom powder, 1/4 tsp fried gram/pottukadalai to smooth paste with 1/4 cup water. Day 16 | ![]() Sprouted Ragi porridge(link) | ![]() Broccoli 🥦 Rice. In a pan, broccoli florets, water above immersing level, pinch each of turmeric, asafoetida, roasted cumin powder, sambar powder and cook closed for 10 mins or until soft. While it is still cooking, u can add more water, if required. Once cooked soft(make sure it has lil water in it at this stage). Day 17 | ![]() Sweet potato 🍠 cutlet. Pressure cook 🍠 with water till immersing level for 2 whistles. Transfer to plate, peel the skin & let it dry under fan for half an hour. Mash half of it with pinch each of asafoetida, turmeric, roasted cumin & plain chilli powders. Add finely chopped shallots(optional) & a tbsp of powdered(in mixie) fried gram /pottukadalai. If required, u can add 1 or 2 tsp of rice flour. Mix well, pinch out small ball, flatten with fingers to form circle. In iron tawa, add 1 or 2 tbsp coconut oil. Once it is hot, lower the flame & add the patties. Shallow fry on both sides in low flame. As it is already cooked, just 2 to 3 mins in each side shud suffice. Will be soo soft & yumm 👌 Baby loved it. | ![]() Paruppu sadham with Pomfret/vaaval grilled fish. Pressure cook toor dal(soaked for 30 mins), 1/2 chopped tomato, 2 chopped shallots, 1 garlic clove, pinch each of asafoetida, turmeric & roasted cumin powders for 5 whistles. Marinate fish with generous pinches of turmeric, pepper & roasted cumin powders with lil lemon juice for 1 hour. Brush with olive oil & grill each side for 10 mins in high broil mode. Day 19 | ![]() Foxtail millet/Thinai idli with coconut green chutney. 1/2 cup Thinai, 1/2 cup idli rice, 1/4 cup urad dal, 1/4 cup poha, 1/8 tsp methi seeds. Soak everything separately for 6 hours. I ground in mixie. Methi, urad & methi soaked water together, grind poha without water, grind rice & millet together without water. Mix all & ferment overnight. Make as regular idlis. For chutney, in a drop of sesame oil, handful of mint leaves and few coriander few leaves. Once shrunken, add 1/2 cup coconut, 2 tsp fried gram/pottukadalai, a small piece peeled ginger, stir once & switch off. Let it cool in the pan itself. Grind with water for baby and with salt & green chillies for others. Temper with mustard, Urad dal(not for baby), curry leaves, asafoetida. | ![]() Rice with Snakegourd / pudalangai kootu. Pressure cook Moong dal(soaked for 20 mins), small tomato, few chopped small onions, 2 garlic cloves, chopped snakegourd, generous pinches of asafoetida, turmeric & roasted cumin powders for 3 to 4 whistles. Day 20 | ![]() Mashed Corn 🌽 + Carrot 🥕 Got tender & organic corns from Indian farmer & it was too soft & delicious.. In pressure cooker, corn, water till immersing level, chopped wet carrots in a closed bowl above that and cooked for 5 whistles. When I tried to take the corn kernels from the cob, it just came out without the skin. So, just mashed carrot and corn using potato masher. Day 21 | ![]() Homemade instant wheat cerelac(link) | ![]() Rice with Bronzini fish curry. In sesame oil, mustard, curry 🍃, 2 chopped small onions. Once slightly fried, add 1/2 chopped ripened tomato & a big pinch turmeric. Once mushy, in sim, add 1/4 tsp coriander powder, big pinches of pepper powder, roasted cumin powder & plain chilli powder or any homemade gravy powder. Stir once, add 1 uncut coriander stalk with leaves & 3/4 cup water & cook closed in med flame for 5 mins. Grind a tbsp of grated coconut with 1/4 cup water and add to it. Rinse mixie jar with 1/4 or 1/2 more cup water as required & add. Cook closed in med flame for 5 mins. Add a fish piece and cook closed for 5 mins. Turn the fish to other side & cook closed for 5 more mins. | ![]() Orange chunks 🍊 with few pomegranate arils. I have already given 5 pome arils to the baby in a daytime when my elder one was eating it & the baby loved it. Just give one aril at a time in your presence, to avoid putting it in the nose. Day 22 | ![]() Carrot smoothie 🥕 Chop 1 carrot & add to a bowl. Sprinkle a pinch roasted cumin powder (optional) & lil water just to wet the carrots & close with a lid. Pour lil water in pressure cooker & keep this bowl inside. Cook for 5 to 6 whistles. Take out, cool down & blend with 2 tbsp thick & fresh curd. Day 23 | ![]() Paniyaram using her idli batter with coconut chutney- Just 1 tbsp coconut, 1/2 tsp pottukadalai/ fried gram, pinch peeled ginger piece. Grind with water & temper with mustard seeds & curry 🍃 | ![]() Broccoli 🥦 kurma. Add 5 broccoli florets in a bowl, sprinkle lil water & close with a lid. Add 1/2 cup water to pressure cooker & keep this bowl inside & cook for 3 whistles. In coconut/sesame oil, 2 chopped small onions, curry 🍃, grated (lil ginger & 1 garlic clove). Once fried, add 1 small ripened tomato, big pinch turmeric powder. Once mushy, add 1/4 tsp coriander powder, big pinch each of roasted cumin & sambar powders(or any homemade gravy powder). Stir once, add 1 uncut coriander stalk with leaves. Add 3/4 cup water & cook closed for 5 mins. Grind 1 tbsp grated coconut, 1 pattai/cinnamon, 1 krambu/clove, pinch cardamom powder, 1 big pinch sombu/aniseed, 20 pottukadalai/ fried gram, 1 whole cashewnut with 1/4 cup water to smooth paste. Add this paste to gravy. Rinse mixie jar with 1/4 cup water & add. Cook closed in med flame for 5 mins. Day 24 | ![]() Avocado 🥑 and banana 🍌 | ![]() Malabar spinach/ Pasalai keerai Masiyal- Recipe same as in this link(click). Just used a tomato instead of tamarind. Minus salt and chillies while grinding for baby.. | ![]() Orange chunks🍊 | ![]() White rava khichdi.. Coconut/Sesame oil, mustard, 1/2 Cinnamon, 2 cloves, 1 bay leaf, curry 🍃, handful of small onions chopped, 2 uncut green chillies, 1 big piece peeled ginger. In 30 secs, add 1 chopped tomato, turmeric powder. In 30 secs, add peas, stir once and add 2.5 cups water & cook closed in med flame until peas is cooked. Simmer & add 1 cup roasted rava, mix well & cook closed for 3 mins. Stir well, switch off & keep closed for 5 mins.Take out baby portion & then add salt & chopped coriander leaves, mix & keep closed for 5 mins for others. We had it with spicy coconut chutney to compensate the taste.. |
Day 25 | ![]() Red poha/ Aval pongal - Wash well & soak 1 tbsp poha with 2 tbsp water for 15 mins. In ghee, in sim, add curry 🍃, lil piece of peeled ginger, pinch each of asafoetida, roasted cumin & pepper powders, 1 tbsp cooked moongdal with 2 tbsp dal water(I used dal that I cooked for our tiffin sambar with tomato, turmeric & asafoetida). Cook in med-low flame for 5+ mins until desired consistency.. | ![]() Rice with Ashgourd/ vellai poosani moongdal kootu. In coconut oil, mustard, curry 🍃, tail of a green chilli without seeds, 1 chopped small onion, pinch asafoetida. Once onions start to change color, add big pinch roasted cumin powder, 1 uncut coriander stalk with leaves, 1 heaped tbsp cooked moongdal(I used dal cooked for bf), 1 tbsp dal water, 5 cooked Ashgourd pieces with 1 tbsp cooked water(I pressure cooked Ashgourd with lil water & turmeric for 2 whistles for whole family) & let it boil in medium flame for 3 to 5 mins.. | ![]() Peeled & chopped pear 🍐 I slightly press with fingers while feeding.. | ![]() Matta rice porridge.. Cooked rice, pinch roasted cumin powder, water - just cook for 3 mins & mash with potato masher while cooking. Whenever I am tired, I opt this dinner for baby.. |
Day 26 | ![]() Proso Millet / Pani varagu idli with pumpkin sambar. I planned to make with Kodo millet/ Varagu but couldn’t get it & so made with this. U can go for varagu if available.. 1/2 cup Millet, 1/2 cup idli rice, 1/4 cup urad dal, 1/4 cup poha, 1/8 tsp methi seeds. Soak everything separately for 6 hours. I ground in mixie. Methi, urad & methi soaked water together, grind poha without water, grind rice & millet together without water. Mix all & ferment overnight. Make as regular idlis. | ![]() Rice with Pumpkin Sambar. Once spluttered, in sim, add curry 🍃, asafoetida, chopped small onion. Once fried, add big pinch each of roasted cumin powder, coriander powder, sambar powder, uncut coriander stalk with leaves. Add dal water, cooked dal, cooked pumpkin along with some cooked water. Day 27 | ![]() Sweet potato 🍠 Just pressure cooked with water for 2 whistles, peeled & cut.. | ![]() Tomato rice 🍅 To a mixie jar, add a pinch pattai/cinnamon, 1 clove, pinch cumin/jeera, pinch sombu/aniseed, 1 small onion, 1 garlic clove, lil piece peeled ginger, 6 mint leaves, 3 coriander stalks with leaves, ripened tomato 1/2, 1 heaped tsp grated coconut, 1 cashewnut- grind all to smooth paste without adding water. In pressure cooker, add lil groundnut/coconut oil & lil ghee or butter, add 1/4 bay leaf, ground paste, big pinch turmeric powder and fry in low flame for 5+ mins . Add pinch each of coriander powder, plain chilli powder, cardamom powder & stir for 30 secs. Add 2 tbsp of 30 mins soaked & washed rice(I used normal sona masoori rice), 1/2 cup water, close the lid and cook in medium flame for 1 whistle & simmer for 10 mins. Once pressure releases naturally, open & mash with potato masher.. It was so soft and moist.. I slightly handmashed while feeding.. Once spluttered, chanadal, Urad dal, curry 🍃, asafoetida, 1 chopped onion, 1 uncut green chilli, 2 small piece peeled ginger, 1 tomato, 1 chopped carrot, handful of green peas, turmeric powder, 2 uncut coriander stalks with leaves, water, dry roasted( for 3 mins in low flame) wheat rava. No need to fry onion & tomato so much.. just add all ingredients one by one and stir once for each ingredient. Close the cooker & cook in medium-high flame for just one whistle.. Once pressure releases naturally, stir well & keep closed for 5 mins. Then, take out baby portion. Add salt & keep closed for 5 more mins for others. Serve with spicy coconut chutney for others.. |
Day 28 | ![]() Whole black urad dal porridge cooked with roasted & powdered black sesame seeds & ghee. Link and recipe in Day 18 breakfast. | ![]() Mashed Matta rice mixed with homemade curd. Potato 🥔 pepper fry - Pressure cook whole potato 🥔 with water for 4 whistles. Cool down, peel, chop, sprinkle big pinches of turmeric, asafoetida, roasted cumin & pepper powders. No water required , just sprinkle and mix well so that masalas spread on all pieces. In iron tawa, coconut oil. Once hot, simmer & add the potato pieces. Cook in both sides until masalas are slightly browned. Don’t roast crisp. Let it be soft.. | ![]() Peeled, deseeded & chopped black grapes .. | ![]() Idli with Ridgegourd/ Peerkangai chutney. In sesame oil, fry a heaped tsp whole urad dal & keep aside. Add some more oil, add 1 chopped onion(or a handful of small onions), 2 garlic cloves & 2 green chillies. Once transparent, add a lil piece peeled ginger, 1 chopped tomato. Just fry for a min, remove chilli & add chopped ridgegourd (I didn’t peel the skin as mine was organic. I didn’t remove the center part as mine was so tender). Cook closed in medium-low flame for 10 mins. Stir now & then. Mine let out water. If it is too dry, add some water & cook soft. Lastly add a tbsp of grated coconut, stir once & switch off. Once cooled, grind without chilli for baby. Then add salt, chilli, & grind the rest for others. U can add some water while grinding, if required.. Temper with mustard, Urad dal, curry 🍃, asafoetida. |

In sesame oil, mustard, curry 🍃, 3 chopped small onions & 1 garlic clove. Once it starts to change color, add chopped small tomato & big pinch turmeric powder. Once mushy, add 1/4 tsp coriander powder, pinch each of roasted cumin powder & plain chilli powder. Stir once & add 1 uncut coriander stalk with leaves & 1/2 cup water. Cook closed in medium flame for 5 mins. Grind 1 tbsp grated coconut with 1/4 cup water & add. Rinse mixie jar with 1/2 more cup water & add..Cook closed for 5 mins. Day 30 | ![]() Sprouted Ragi porridge(link) cooked with grated pista & almond(soaked overnight & peeled). | ![]() Rice with Ridgegourd/Peerkangai kootu. Pressure cook moongdal(soaked for 20 mins), small tomato, garlic cloves, small onions, peeled & chopped ridgegourd, turmeric powder, asafoetida, water & lil oil for 3 whistles. In coconut oil, mustard, curry 🍃, nearly half green chilli without seeds, asafoetida, cooked dal + veggies + dal water. Day 31 | ![]() Lotus seeds porridge + mashed banana 🍌 This porridge powder(link) is over with this 😁 | ![]() Matta rice mixed with fresh curd & Lady’s finger stir fry- In iron tawa, coconut/sesame oil, mustard. Once spluttered, curry 🍃, asafoetida, chopped okra, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder. Stir well, add a tbsp curd and stir well. Cook closed. Once half cooked, add generous pinch of plain chilli powder, stir well & again cook closed until cooked soft. Open & stir often while cooking. Don’t fry crisp. Remove baby portion, add more chilli powder & salt & stir open until required crispness for others. | ![]() Papaya pieces | ![]() Red poha/aval porridge. Wash & soak a tbsp of red aval for 20 mins. Mash it well with hand and cook in low-med flame with 1/4 cup water, lil ghee and a pinch of roasted cumin/jeera powder. Cook for 5 mins until it thickens. Feed warm. |
